Animal Generator
The Singing Glade, is a swamp nestled to the west of the Severed Wilds Jungle. The high concentration of water here gives the landscape an intense humidity. The swamps proximity to both the sea and the nearby mangroves gives the waters here a brackish quality. Making life here adapt to a mix of salt and freshwater.
Earning its name, the Singing Glade owes its charming name to the Chorus Lilly creatures that inhabit its waters. As night falls, their mating calls echo far and wide through the swamp. Despite the beauty of these amphibious singers, living in this bog is no easy feat. For the swamp is riddled with creatures who wish not to sing to you but to consume you.
Predators like the agile and cunning Wobbygongs stalk these labyrinthine waterways. Their ability to move through the shallow waters and mud in pursuit of prey is unmatched. Even if one is not being hunted just navigating the swamp can prove a challenge. Thanks to large herbivores called Elasms whose migrations alter the waterways and channels. Causing natives of the swamp to get hopelessly lost.
In response to the dangers, the inhabitants have domesticated huge insects that were native to the swamps known as Titan Beetles. Their giant statue and armored legs allow them to move throughout the swamps relatively safely.
Those who call the Singing Glade home predominantly worship Vuntur, the goddess of life and death, seeking to live in harmonious coexistence with the swamp's delicate ecosystem. Their homes reflect their reverence, crafted from elements sourced from the very swamp, be it the hides of creatures or the husks of fallen Titan Beetles.
Though the Singing Glade itself offers limited natural resources and challenging terrain for agriculture and construction, it attracts outsiders for two notable reasons. Adventurers and curious souls embark on tours atop the noble Titan Beetles. Others seek out rare plant life known as Bog Stars, prized in the capital for their glowing seed bulbs that resemble stars. However, one must exercise caution, for the Bog Stars' carnivorous counterparts, the Dying Stars, cleverly mimic their appearance to ensnare unsuspecting victims, luring them into a slow and treacherous digestion.
