To the south lies a series of islands known commonly as the Brightview Isles. Although the islands belong to the same region they could not be more different. Let's start with Ventis Isles, a land filled with magic and creativity. These islands in particular are unusual because they do not float along the sea but are instead lifted into the air. This strange phenomenon is seemingly caused by a powerful magnetic polarity originating from beneath the ocean. This magnetism acts in direct opposition to the metal ores underneath the islands, pushing the landmass into the sky. However, this gravitational abnormality is not perfect. The island is in a constant state of flux, with pieces floating up and down throughout the day. The wildlife here is also quite strange as over time they learned to adapt to an untethered world. Notable examples of this would be the gentle but beautiful Aether Rays. These behemoths are a favorite of Ventis Isles thanks to their large size and prismatic colors. Naturally a land so bizarre would attract curious minds. Leading to the Ventis Isles being the founding location of the magic academy, Mirstone. This academy is regarded as the most elite of schools to learn the arcane arts.
In contrast to the whimsy and magic of the Ventis Isle is Hollowpoint. This island was once full of lush fields and quaint peaceful settlements. All of that changed on the day of the meteorite impact. Unfortunately for the citizens of Hollowpoint, a mass calamity from the heaves crashed into their island. The impact destroyed the land and left no survivors but that is not the worst of it. The meteorite that destroyed the island brought with it the scourge now known as the affliction. Since the fall of Hollowpoint the governing body of the country has forbidden civilian travel to the island or its surrounding waters. Despite this precaution the affliction still managed to make its way to the country's mainland. Military reports of the island tell stories of a barren scorched wasteland filled with creatures not of this world.
