The wonders of Dead Man's Drop Forest

Major Export - This beautiful decidious forest is densly packed with sturdy harwood trees. The trees from this forest provide the bulk of the lumber export for the whole country.

Name Origin - Gathering the lumber here is no easy hurtle. Despite the usual danger associated with felling trees the lumberjacks here face additional dangers. Hiding among the tallest of the trees in the forest, are predatory creatures known as Plummets. Any unwary traveler or lumberjack could meet there end to these creatures brutal ambush tactics. In fact Dead Man's Drop forest even gets its name thanks to these creatures habit of falling from the tree canopy onto their unlucky victim. Luckily, every good resident of the forest knows how to avoid the trees these cunning creature hunt from.

Castle of Ash - This strange structure is said to have appeared after a great fire swept through the forest. After the fire subsided locals were shocked to find what appeared to be an ancient castle covered in burn scars. Since its appearance locals have mostly stayed clear of the area, believing it is the domain of some great evil.

Hill of Kings - The western corner of dead man’s drop forest is home to a beautiful series of large waterfalls. These falls are not only breathtaking but also hold historical significance to the area. The stories say the top of the falls are where the original founders of Veargreum gathered. There they discussed the future leadership of the country and its regions.

Wooddrow is a small lumber town located to the Northwest of Dead Man's Drop Forest. The town provides quality lumber exports to the capital city of Avarice. The towns layout is mostly made of simple log cabin structures for the workers and their families. With a large rectangular saw mill called "Dead Mill" that runs parallel to the river. The borders and streets of the town are surrounded by Rowan Light torches during the night. These torches emit celestial energy and thus glow a bright light flame. This unique type of flame helps deter nocturnal predators who reside in the forest.

Originally the town of Natures Rest was known as Natures Respite. During the countries founding Natures Respite was a bustling port town, full of trade and commerce. Unfortunately, the town was wiped out by the goddess of pestilence. After its abandonment the people of Dead Man's Drop gave it the name Natures Rest. Many years after its destruction the town was reclaimed by a group of heroes. Now that the land seems to be safe it has had a bit of a resurgence. While it has yet to attain the same status as Natures Respite it is on an upward trend. For the moment this town is a quiet port town known for its old weathered architecture and spooky legends surrounding its past.

Crowntide is a simple fishing village located just south of "The Hill of Kings" waterfalls. The townsfolk here are excellent fishers and seafarers. Despite the borders being pushed up against the forest edges, they get most of what they need from the ocean and beaches. While being economically quite poor, you would rarely here a townsfolk complain. For who needs wealth and riches when the tides provide?
