These underground bushes are found growing on the cavern floor beneath the light of the Gloom Gazer plants. Unlike a lot of surface dwelling bushes the Dark Dazzles have the majority of their foliage at the very top of their structure with the bottom half being barren. This is due to the only ultraviolet light coming from the Gloom Gazers high above on the cavern ceiling. Leading many of the plants growing on the cavern floor to develop unique ways of reaching higher up, to grab as much ultraviolet light as possible. While the daytime is spent trying to absorb as much ultraviolet light as possible, the night time is when the Dark Dazzles truly show off. When the light from the Gloom Gazers ceases, special bioluminescent flowers on the Dazzles begin to glow, mimicking the color of the Gazers. This special phenomenon helps citizens of the Gloom keep track of the day and night. It also started the common Gloom saying “Day is up and Night is down.”
