Long ago many of the farmlands of Veargreum came under attack by a terrible plague that wiped out most of the farm's population. This plague not only killed most of the humanoids taking care of the farm but also animals like the loyal farm dogs. However, in death the deceased dogs made a wish to the goddess of nature Yena. In return for allowing the dogs to return to the land of the living. They would eternally watch over and cultivate the farmers' fields. Yena, admiring the pure intentions and loyalty of these dogs granted their wish and allowed them to rise from death. Unfortunately, the plague had damaged the dogs physical bodies, so when they were brought back Yena was forced to make modifications. Luckily these changes aided in the dogs farming capabilities. They were given long front claws like sickles, to help chop down wheats and grains. The ends of their tails make perfect plows for the fields and the giant eye in the center of their chest can detect dangers or pests. Despite their usefulness and kind heart there are those who shun these creatures. It just goes to show no matter the intentions there are still those who judge purely based on looks.
