These gelatinous creatures were once innocent slimes who were captured, experimented on and replicated. After suffering horrendous tortures in the name of scientific progress, the offspring evolved to learn the ultimate survival ability. It learned to hide itself by morphing into anything it had ever touched. The more experience it gathered, the better it became at morphing into a perfect copy. The scientists were intrigued with its abilities, and continued their experiments, until one day a single specimen escaped by morphing itself into one of the scientists' pens, and waited in their pocket until they found themselves outside. Once it was safe it started eating and replicating itself, learning to hunt unwary prey in the wilderness. Eventually the Menaces found their way back to civilization where they didn’t just survive but thrived. Now these Oozes are considered common household pests who shape change into cups, pepper shakers, and of course pens. Too small to prey upon the house's inhabitants they instead use their hiding abilites to eat scraps and raid pantries. While their shape changing ability is masterful they are unable to change their eyes. Meaning the best way to spot a hiding Menace is to simply look for the object with a pair of googly eyes on them. Oftentimes homes will actually put a pair of googly eyes on a large object in the house, to trick Morphin-Menaces into thinking the home has already been claimed by a larger Menace.
