Wither lilies are extraordinary aquatic plants made in a druidic research facility. Upon first inspection of the plant one would think this tiny hardened shape is merely a dried up or fossilized seed. However upon placing the plant in a body of water they will quickly grow in size. Until floating right on the water's surface is a wide flat aquatic plant. You see this plant was alchemically altered to retreat into a dormant state upon drying out and then return to its normal state when placed in water. This adaptation means the plant can be both easily transported and survive sudden droughts. Not only that, but when the plant is placed in water they quickly collect oxygen in the water and use it to create an air bubble on the underside of the plant. This serves as both a temporary oxygen source for smaller creatures who cannot breath under water, as well as providing the plant extra buoyancy on the water's surface. This way both animals and humanoids coming across the plant can use them as sturdy stepping stones to cross bodies of water.
