Plascelium are a peculiar glowing fungus native to the Everlit Evergreen forest. Unlike most bioluminescent fungi who utilize chemical reactions to create their lights, the Plascelium wields electricity to shine. The fungus achieves this thanks to special gases being created within the cap region of the fungus. These gases then react to electrical currents traveling up through the shaft of the mushroom from the ground to create ionized plasma. These luminous tendrils of plasma are constantly striking at the outer walls of the mushroom cap. Then the transparent outer walls of the mushroom cap allow the illumination created from the plasma to be visible. While the plasma cannot escape the confines of the Plasceliums outer walls ordinarily all they need is a living organism to come in contact with the mushroom cap. This contact creates an escape for the trapped electricity giving the unknowing creature quite a shock. Despite the potential danger, locals of the Everlit Evergreen often cultivate these fungi with the goal of eventually harvesting them to upgrade their weapons.
