In the wild this grass is typically found growing in shallow pools or riverbanks of polluted water. Here it absorbs the polluted liquid at its base and separates impurities out into its exodermis. These impurities make the skin acidic, and therefore flexible. The now purified water is carried up into a bulb which, when heavy enough, causes the plant to bend to be harvested. The bulb is transparent and fragile allowing nearby animals easy access to the water contained within. It is believed the plant creates these water filled bulbs to allow them to release excess water. Upon its discovery, this plant quickly became a favorite of humanoids to plant within their towns and cities. Whether it be small specimens in individuals' homes providing them with easy purified water. Or much larger towering stalks being planted in polluted water supplies or lakes, to provide fresh drinking water for entire towns and settlements.
