These long, flat, wide, aquatic plants grow in lightly coiled sheets along beach shores and in tidepools. What makes the Crackle Kelp unique is the the many pockets of compressed air that bubble up in various sizes on the plants leaves. When pressed down on or poked hard enough the bubbled areas will break with a satisfying pop. These bubbles have given them a cushioning effect, making the plant a good safe home for creatures. The sheets of kelp can be detached from the main plant very easily and often fall off to make room for more of the plant to grow. The easily detached nature of these plants along with their cushioning effect makes them popular among merchants. Who use them as a packaging material to insure their goods are transported safely.

This plant is called a Crackle Kelp and lives mostly within the Tidepools.
