Cloud Caps are a fungus found within the Gloom usually growing on cavern walls or ceilings. The caps of the fungus have a large fuzzy white texture that resembles clouds, giving them their namesake. While their appearance does help they also fulfill the function of clouds in the Gloom. Their upturned caps are often found filled with water that is gradually released through small pores making it look as if they are producing rain. The water they find is no coincidence as the fungus only grows in areas of extreme moisture. The citizens of the Gloom know that if they find a cluster of Cloud Caps it most likely means there is an underground lake or river on the other side of the rock or ground they are growing from.
