Jumping in and out of the crystal waters of the Opal Sea are the Wave Whippets. These playful aquatic mammals have long streamline bodies and powerful flippers. These features make the Whippers fast and strong swimmers. Their speed and agility underwater aid them in catching all manner of slippery fish that inhabit the seas' corral reefs. When not hunting, the whippets spend their time seeking out ships. They do this in hopes of getting food from the sailors and in return the Whippets elemental powers over the winds ensure safe sailing conditions. This has become such a common occurrence in the Opal Sea that it is considered bad fortune to not spot a Wave Whippet on your journey.
