Toxic Flares are tiny strange reptiles that inhabit the Everlit Evergreen. These creatures possess a long thin body with a toothless mouth and amphibian legs. Usually spotted around bodies of water, using their hind set of insectoid wings to hover above the water's edge. They then use their serpentine bodies to reach down and dip their head into the water to suck up algae. Despite their small size the Flares are rarely feasted upon by larger predators, due to their highly toxic nature. This toxicity is displayed by their flashy color patterns, serving as a warning to any predator hoping to snag an easy meal. The toxicity they possess is derived from their diet, as the algae they consume is also toxic. Luckily the Flares were created with the sole intention of removing toxic waste from waterways, giving them a natural born immunity. This toxic resilience is also what enables them to eat without the use of teeth. Whenever they consume some algae, special acidic saliva in their mouths breaks down the algae into an easily to swallow liquid form.
