When born the Teezleton are quite small, having to rely on their thick shells for defense. Unfortunately, the frontal horn which they use to break out of their eggshells. Prevents them from fully retracting into their defensive turtle-like shell. The vulnerability of the young is most likely why adults lay their eggs in dense vegetation far from the beaches. This sanctuary keeps the young Teezletons sheltered from larger predators. Eventually when they are large enough, the Teezletons make their way towards the nearest beach. Researchers believe the Teezeltons are able to smell the salinity of the sea water, which they use like a compass. Now at the beaches and standing a towering 7ft(2.1 meters) tall, few beachgoers can challenge a fully grown Teezleton. This security allows Teezeltons to spend their days patrolling the beaches and tides for food, instead of worrying about becoming food themselves. This food ranges from aquatic vegetation and any unlucky creature they can fit in their mouths. When it comes to finding companionship the smaller male Teezeltons will seek out females that have the largest shells. The shells are no longer needed for defense but instead are used as an indicator of the female's strength. Their size, strength and relaxed demeanor also make the Teezeltons excellent mounts for humanoids.
