Tamaprodon’s are one of the largest and most successfully adapted semi-aquatic herbivores found within the bioluminescent forest. Though successful in today’s ecosystem researchers believe that wasn’t always the case. Their ancestors originally dwelled in nearby caves moving out into the forest in search of food. Over time the cave dwelling Tamaprodon ancestors grew fat from an abundance of fresh vegetation. However, changing their environment has come with its fair share of challenges as well. Their eyes had to adapt to the much brighter surroundings and in turn the forest plants seemed to get more luminous, in an attempt to fend off the Tamaprodon's voracious appetites. This arms race led to the ones unable to adapt dying off, while the survivors set their species onto a new course. Tamaprodon's today not only withstand the bright lights of the forest, but have fully embraced its power. Their true ingenuity lies in their bioluminescent tails, which resemble native plant species. This resemblance to native plants help the younger Tamaprodon's hide amongst the foliage as well as the adults in finding a mate. With a flashy show of a vibrant tail to signify their adaptability this species continues to breed and thrive in the bioluminescent forest.
