Sunderbeeste are large four legged carnivores that stalk the outskirts of Geodius. They have a vaguely feline form, with a head resembling a beetle adorned with large mandibles and a back covered in hard chitinous plates. Sunderbeeste are powerful ambush predators and despite their bulky frame are able to move quite silently. Instead of using their powerful claws or sharp mandibles to take down prey, they employ a different strategy. Using the gem embedded in their tails they manipulate gravitational forces to crush their prey. Once the prey is crushed, they are then able to slurp up the now crushed prey with their insectoid mouth parts. This gravity manipulation also allows them to swing their tails with higher velocity and striking power than would normally be possible. Which comes in handy during territorial disputes, ending off a hungry Umbra or other larger predator.
