Legend says if a pool of water stays stagnant and stale for long enough the pool will transform into a mischievous creature, known as a Sqwelch. The Sqwelch looks like a mismatched puzzle with a reptilian head, mammalian body and ooze-covered tail. The slime that their tails produce is very sticky and they often use it for fishing. By dipping their tails into the water, they are able to catch fish who come in contact with the sticky ooze. The slime also lingers within the waters, giving native swamp dwellers a clue that the Sqwelch may be nearby. These tiny bipedals are very clever tricksters, who enjoy leading travelers off the main path and into the bogs. Other stories say Sqwelch spend much of their time beneath the water looking for dropped trinkets and items. With a bit of bargaining the Sqwelch might even return your lost item. Sadly the object will always be covered in a thick layer of slime.
