The Sap Scourge is a corrupted equine monster that stalks the Sap Scorched Forest. Legend says that the Sap Scourge was once a Sprite Steed fey that ended up losing their prized magical orb. Without the orb the Steed was cut off from the Twilite Drift and cursed to wander the Sap Scorched Forest forever, becoming eventually corrupted by the Forest. It is still debated if this creature truly exists, as sightings are very rare and usually come from frightened locals or old ghost stories. If the stories are to be believed the Scourge has a strong muscular frame, a mouth full of sharp teeth, reinforced front hooves and a face bubbling with acidic sap. The creature is blind as the sap completely covers the beast's eyes, if it had any to begin with. Meaning it chooses to stalk the forest at night in search of Sprite Steeds, utilizing its excellent hearing and smell instead of eyesight. It is believed that the Scourge hunts Sprite Steeds in an attempt to reclaim its lost orb but can’t seem to find the right match. The Scourges nighttime hunting is why locals of the area warn travelers not to go into the forest at night time or risk the Scourge's wrath.
