The Coral Reefs of Crius may appear as a tranquil colorful paradise but every ecosystem needs predators, and the reefs are no exception. Patrolling these clear waters is the Needle Snapper. These medium sized predatory fish have a powerful streamline body and rows of needle sharp teeth. Not only that but they also hunt in small packs to take down prey. While their speed and sharp teeth may aid them in catching prey every creature needs some defense as well. For the Needle Snapper their defense comes from a layer of sharp bristles like quills that line their backs and head. These quills are not venomous but would make taking a bite out of them quite painful. Unfortunately for a Needle Snapper, the quill placement does leave their underbelly quite vulnerable to attack.
