Where there are hoards of gold and treasure odds are a Miserling is not far behind. These small rodent-like creatures love the glint and shine of metallic objects like gold and silver. This love of treasure often leads the Miserlings to inhabit Umbra hoards. While typically Umbras do not allow other creatures to touch their hoards the Miserlings are an exception. Miserlings consume insects and small pests that often dwell in the caves and old dungeons where Umbra hoards are located. Utilizing their excellent eyesight, large ears and whiskers to find insects even in the darkest of caves. Miserlings can also be quite noisy when they encounter perceived danger. This works out well for Umbras, who have an early warning system to treasure thieves or rival Umbras. For added security humanoid bankers also employ Miserlings to keep watch over their bank vaults. These domesticated Miserlings have been selectively bred over time to alter their appearance. Giving them speckles of golden coloration among their pink fur.
