The Mirsol is a strange armored mammal native to the Glittering Glades region of Veargreum. This grassland environment imbued with radiant energy, is the perfect habitat for the Mirsols hunting strategy. You see the armored scales covering their backs and tails are very reflective and flexible in nature. This mixed with the intense light of these grasslands allows these mammals to move their scales in a way that focuses the intense light into a localized point. This localized form of sunlight creates a lot of heat. They use this directional sunlight to cook their insect prey. Either by targeting a single insect or focusing the sunlight on a large insect mound. Then after the whole colony has been cooked they dig into the colony structure with their sharp front claws. Their scales are not only useful in redirecting sunlight, as they also aid in communication. By rubbing together their flexible scales they are able to communicate with others of their same species. Depending on the pattern and cadence of the scale movement the sounds can convey different meanings. This method of creating sounds can also be used to help scare off predators. That mixed with raising up and fanning out their back tails to appear larger helps them seem more imposing to a would be attacker.
