Native to the snowcapped mountains of Veargreum is the Lilaval. These quadrupedal mountain goers are covered in a layer of insulating feathers. Which keeps them warm in the high altitudes and heavy snowfall. The bluish coloration on the majority of their feathers also makes it easier for them to camouflage among the snow and ice. However, oftentimes camouflage is hardly needed. As the Lilaval are quite adept at perceiving danger, before the danger gets too close. This is thanks to their excellent vision and most importantly, their mustache-like antennae. These antennae are sensory organs that detect small changes in the atmosphere around them. The changes can range from smelling a predator before it gets too close or sensing the rumble of an approaching avalanche. When danger is sensed the Lilaval quickly flees, utilizing their two toed clawed insectoid feet. These strange feet help them to grip onto the icy rocks of the mountainside. Mix that with their tails for additional balance and you have an expert climber. Food in this environment can be hard to come by. Luckily the Lilaval are blessed with a large sturdy beak. Which allows them to chisel for food buried beneath the snow and ice.
