The sheer rocky cliffs along the sea are home to the Glipnix. These semi aquatic mammals use their suction cup like toes to cling to the cliff faces, in order to feed off of the algae that grows here. However, algae does not make up the entirety of their diet. When not clinging to cliffs the Glipnix spend their times in the nearby ocean, Despite being good swimmers the Glimpnix traditionally keep to shallower waters. This allows them to walk on the ocean floor while feeding on aquatic plants and bivalves. With their long necks allowing them to keep their heads above water. Keeping their heads above the water not only lets these omnivores breathe, but also lets them keep an eye out for predators. Adult Glipnix are large enough to deter most predators, but their offspring are much more vulnerable. That is why their young are born with shaggy fur that resembles seagrass, which is shed as they grow. This extra shaggy fur does make it easier for young Gelpix, known as kits, to be weighed down when in water. To combat this the young Kits are generally kept very close to shore. Their parents will even construct dens for them out of aquatic plants and reeds. Sadly these dens are oftentimes targets for poachers, who kidnap the Kits in order to raise them as domesticated mounts. Glipnix possess an impressive set of horns that act not only as defense, but as a resonating chamber for the Glipnix. Low humming or rumbling noises from inside the Glipnix are amplified by the horns. This lets Glipnix families stay in contact, despite the crashing waves of the sea.
