Prowling the clear waters of the Oasis pools lurks an agile but strange hunter. Their four legged light frame makes them a fast runner along the sands. While their sleek amphibious skin and webbed toes allow them to easily propel themselves through the water. This odd creature is known as a Froxilis, a mix of both terrestrial and aquatic hunters. Due to its adaptations the Froxilis spends its days either submerged in the Oasis waters or along its shores. With its swift speed it can chase down smaller prey. Or simply remain hidden beneath the water waiting for a prey item to get close enough. Whenever an unlucky victim draws close its long lightning fast tongue will lash out and grab them before pulling it into the Froxilis mouth. The origins for this creature are a bit of a mystery but seem to involve an unlucky canine drowning in a flood. Before getting transformed into the unique creature you would find today. Whatever the case, the Froxilis can be found at most Oasis pools. Native people of the desert have come to expect these creatures and thanks to their friendly demeanor are often made as pets for desert oasis dwellers. Which works out for both parties as the Froxilis gets companionship while the desert dweller gets the benefit of a prideful and expert hunter.
