While Firelit Crawfish may resemble normal crustaceans they are far from it. You see the intense heat that Firelit Crawfish produce makes it hard for them to grow naturally forming shells. So instead they harvest the finest of stones found along the walls of the geysers. Then using their superheated claws they weld the stones to their own soft bodies. Their claws are not only capable of superheating the surrounding water but can also glow in a variety of colors. These colors are used as communication, mating displays and intimidation against predators. The glow from these crawfish can be seen from the depths of the geysers but the best time to see this phenomenon is when they venture onto land at night. In fact these Firelit Crawfish are the reason why legends say that the Geysers are boiling at Dawn and Shining at Dusk.
