Don't you just hate it when you are wanting to do some late night reading but have no candles? Fear not as the Chirlo bird has a solution for you! These birds belong to the Glovian family and thus absorb magical energies to convert them into bioluminescence. Creating the perfect nighttime reading companion. Typically they enjoy staying near young wizards or in areas of high magic concentration, to absorb the most magic possible. Their bioluminescence is created in the form of bright glowing forward facing eyes. The light from these eyes allows them to see in the dark and also attract insects. Once the insects are in sight the Chirlo shoots out its long sticky tongue and grabs the insect. Then pulling the tongue and the insect prey right to the waiting birds maw, without them needing to get off of their perch. The younger specimens are about the size of your fist while the fully grown members of the species stand at around 2 meters (6ft) tall.
