Blister Snails are elementals composed of volcanic rock and magma, resembling enormous gastropods growing to the size of large boulders. They spend most of their lives deep beneath the surface of volcanoes, submerged in magma. In this environment, they are nearly impossible to distinguish from the surrounding molten rock and igneous material. However, during volcanic eruptions, they are sometimes forced to the surface. This has led to local settlers in or around volcanic regions to regard Blister Snail sightings as early warnings of seismic or volcanic disturbances, using them as natural indicators of impending eruptions.
While submerged in magma, the Blister Snail lacks its rocky shell. However, as it exits the magma pools, the upper portion of its body cools and hardens into its distinctive shell—only to melt and be reabsorbed once it returns to its molten home. Once above ground, their bodies emit a vivid, fiery glow, revealing their molten forms and serving as a clear warning to any creatures that might consider approaching.
Blister Snails do not consume traditional food. Instead, they absorb rocks and minerals found in and around volcanic regions, incorporating these materials into their bodies and hardened shells. The scorched trails they leave behind are often mistaken for natural lava flows by the untrained eye.
This CR5 creature is called a Blister Snail and is a Elemental that lives mostly within the Volcanic.
